An Apology by Frank Schaeffer...

All of us should be appalled by the murder of Dr. Tiller but Frank Schaeffer takes it a step further and issues an apology:

The same hate machine I was part of is still attacking all abortionists as "murderers." And today once again the "pro-life" leaders are busy ducking their personal responsibility for people acting on their words. The people who stir up the fringe never take responsibility. But I'd like to say on this day after a man was murdered in cold blood for preforming abortions that I -- and the people I worked with in the religious right, the Republican Party, the pro-life movement and the Roman Catholic Church, all contributed to this killing by our foolish and incendiary words.

I am very sorry.

Franky's apology is just the latest in his decades long cheapshots against his parents, since he became Eastern Orthodox, for being evangelical Protestants. Even Catholics and Orthodoxs find him very disturbing in how he treats those he used to have the same faith with, especially his parents (who did not abuse him, nor did he ever claim they did):

And by the way, he misrepresented his father on the issue of abortion and civil obedience. His father never advocated for violence. Franky lied, and this is hardly not the first time he did so either against his parents.
