Deliver us from people...

When my aunt was a little girl she thought the line in the Lord's Prayer was "deliver us from people" rather than "deliver us from evil".   Couldn't help but remember that when I watched this:

I'm going to be honest and say that I just could not watch more than just a few minutes of this as it as making me sick to my stomach. They weren't really even coherent. They are totally oblivious to the real world and the truth. Unbelievable.

Thanks for sharing that, although watching it made me feel a little queasy. I have some friends who attended that rally and I really, really don't understand why. That they apparently thought the whole event was great just makes me hurt for our country.

Uggg. I agree with mommy22ss, I couldn't watch it all. The woman wearing the flag - does she realize that violates the Flag Code? And the guy quoting a song as if it was handed down by God? I find it funny that it's pretty much been business as usual since the changing of the guard at the White House but now these people are speaking up. Guess it has something to do with who's in the White House not what's actually taking place. How sad.

I made myself watch the whole thing. It was sort of like watching a train wreck. Cherie, I thought the exact same thing about the flag shirt. The church my parents and most of my local relatives attend had a special service during the July 4th holidays. It was also part of a week-long reunion that friends and family attend from all over the country every 5 years. I had to smile to myself when I saw the group photo of all these very conservative, patriotic folks. At least half were in violation of the Flag Code. ;)
