Music Monday ~ The Grammy Awards 2012

This year's award program had an element of sadness due to the death of Whitney Houston the day before the show. Jennifer Hudson did a remarkable vocal tribute with her rendition of Houston's song, "I Will Always Love You":

I can't think of anyone who could have pulled that off as well. Nice job, Jennifer.

The Foo Fighters won in the categories of Rock Song and Rock Performance with "Walk":

They also won Rock Album with "Wasting Light" and Hard Rock/Metal Performance with "White Limo".

There was a fun and surprisingly good Beach Boys reunion:

The intro for the Beach Boys reunion included Maroon 5 doing "Surfer Girl":

And Foster the People performing "Wouldn't it be Nice":

"Fool For You" by Cee Lo Green and Melanie Fiona won Traditional R&B Vocal Performance:

There were many other awards, of course, and a rather "interesting" performance by Nicki Minaj. And then there was Adele, who blew the Grammy Awards out of the water with her sweep of all six categories in which she was nominated. What a night for the incredibly talented young lady.

Pop Solo Performance: "Someone Like You"
Pop Vocal Album: "21"
Album of the Year: "21"
Record of the Year: "Rolling in the Deep"
Song of the Year: "Rolling in the Deep"
Best Short Form Music Video: "Rolling in the Deep"

Did you watch the Grammys? What did you think? Who was your favorite performer?
